2012 November 3 - Normans best ever Kingi at 25kg.  He has realised a dream while fishing at White island on the Ma Cherie on the 3rd November.  He says its the best trip he's ever had!  Congratulations Norman

2012 May 13 - Some days its just beautiful out here.  My daughter in law, Remonde and Kenny from KG Kayaks having a casual fish Sunday afternoon.  As usual there were enough for dinner that night and a little more for the neighbours!

2012 March 24th and 25th - Nice Saturday at White Island but mainly small Kingis with nothing to keep over the 900mm agreed limit (there were quite few over 750mm though).  Fortunately a couple of Puka showed up to save the day.  Heres John and Peter showing off a couple of fish.

2012 February 18th - Another Splash Gordon trip from Wellington and you cannot beat weather like this.  This diver embarks on his 100th dive and in true tradition does it naked! This is one of the PG photos.

2012 January 5th - Happy New Year and hope we can get you "out there" soon.  Waters warm and theres some great days for fishing and diving available especially weekdays.  Weekends are pretty full through to March but email or ring and we'll see what we can do".

2011 December 23rd - "Had a big day out at White Island cleaning up plastic etc. from the Rena ship grounding at Astrolabe Reef.  There'll be some photos to follow but the fish life is still amazing and the water beautiful!  It's been fantastic to be part of the clean up but wish it had never happenned in the first place".

Below is a beautiful Packhorse crayfish (Greenback).  We prefer you dont take these huge breeding fish and under no circumstances can you take any crayfish with eggs like this one in the picture.  Please carefully return them to where they came from.

2011 December 22nd - "Nice day out and some good fish.  Firstly Larry Palmer, Taupo with a nice Gemfish (Hake)

And Con Bryenton with a "little Fatty" (Kingfish of course) ready for release.

2011 October 23rd - "Nice haul of snapper for an hours fishing.  Close to Whale Island and close to home"

2011 October 9th - "Another nice day with nice fish especially some good snapper.  Paul from Auckland was with us with Bethel who took this photo and he landed the snapper on 8 kg tackle after a good battle.  Good job Paul!!  The fish weighed 6.9kg wet.  We also enjoyed some nice Blue Cod fishing on this day as well."

2011 October 6th - "Landed another good Albacore Tuna today.  It was around 10 kg's.  It's always exciting to get those speedy little guys take the lure.  Weather has had a real sweet patch again and we've been enjoying the Bay of Plenty and White Island.  I sure hope the ship Rena stuck on Astrolabe Reef off Tauranga doesn't leak too much oil and spoil our piece of paradise!! Hoping for a good clean and timely salvage operation".

2011 September 20th - "Been getting good fishing along the mud and around the many thermal vents inside Whale Island.  Just drifting and bouncing baits seems to work pretty well.  A concentrated soft baiting effort at the right times of day would proabably turn up some good results I'd say.  The weather has had some perfect patches this month".

2011 August 2nd - John says "Just landed a 18.4 kg Albacore tuna today North of Whale island.  Nice size for a winter fish and heading out today looking for some more.  I'll keep you posted. "

2011 July 18th - John says" Just had the best weekend at White Island with a group from Palmerston North.  Great weather and viz around 30 meters.  Photos to follow soon!"

2011 July - John says "I just got back from Alaska and what an amazing wildlife experience.  Love to share the stories with you next time you're on the Ma Cherie.  I'll post some links or photos soon. Anyway back to the charters."
Now posted some Alaska photos Click here
